CORNEA

A fully immersive 3D virtual reality environment, CORNEA is an advanced version of the original CAVE immersive environment developed in the early 1990’s by Prof.  Tom DeFanti and others at UIC.  CORNEA is now the brightest and highest-resolution CAVE environment in the world, and one of only two six-sided installations in the world to employ 24 digital 4K projectors (four per wall) to create an impressive 200 million pixel stereoscopic display.

CORNEA Audio Capabilities:

CORNEA is also the first research environment of its kind to offer the integrated sound spatialization and varible virtual acoustics of Meyer Sound Matrix3 and Constellation. Virtual acoustic environments and custom audio content is presented via a 20.4-channel speaker cage that surrounds the user. For more details ->
