With seating for up to 75, the Multi Purpose Room (MPR) serves as the Visualization Lab’s principal space for larger group meetings and intensive collaborative research sessions. The front wall of the MPR is a 10’ x 20’ power wall with 8 digital 4K projectors for a 64 million pixel stereoscopic 3D display. The room includes several large plasma screens mounted on side walls for additional imaging option, while HD cameras and wireless microphones are available for video conferencing sessions. Extensive, high-speed fiber optic lines interlink the MPR with the central computer cluster, the CORNEA environment, the Recording and Control Room and the main development room. The MPR can tap 51 potential video sources, and distribute 31 of them out of the MPR to other visualization systems. The MPR is also equipped with the Visualization Lab’s most powerful immersive audio capabilities, featuring a 50-loudspeaker Matrix3 and Constellation system.
