​As part of a continuing series of workshops on "Large Scale Data Analysis and Visualization", the KAUST Visualization Core Laboratory in collaboration with KAUST Supercomputing Laboratory and IT Research Computing, is pleased to announce a half-day workshop on Distributed Scientific Visualization and Data Analysis with Paraview. Paraview is an open-source, multi-platform, distributed data analysis and visualization application.

​As part of a series of workshops on "Large Scale Data Analysis and Visualization", the Visualization Core Laboratory is pleased to announce a half-day introductory workshop on Scientific Visualization and Data Analysis with ParaView. Attendees will participate in a hands-on session working with ParaView to create 3d visualizations of scientific datasets. ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application.

A half-day workshop on various services and facilitites available at the KAUST Visualization Laboratory (KVL). Attendees will learn about the capabilities at the KAUST Visualization Laboratory, including utilizing the large tiled-display wall for scientific presentations, data analysis and 3d visualization. Attendees will also hear from Project PIs and Visualization experts about various scientific projects in progress at KVL.​​​​

The Visualization Core Laboratory is pleased to announce a 2-day workshop on introductory and advanced use of the AVIZO Visualization Suite. This workshop will be led by engineers from FEI, the company that makes the software. AVIZO, available for use at KAUST Visualization Laboratory and throughout campus, provides a powerful, multifaceted set of tools used for visualizing, exploring and analyzing scientific and engineering data. It helps engineers, scientists and researchers gain greater and faster insight into 2D/3D images and numerical simulation data.

Attendees will learn crafting a story, storyboarding, digital filmmaking, composition, lighting and digital video editing techniques through the hands-on practice of crafting their own film. Attendees will also learn how to checkout equipment, book the studio and the editing systems.  The final product of the course will be 2-3 minute videos produced by each attendee or team about a KAUST relevant topic. At the final class, attendees or teams will introduce their work, screen their work the visualization laboratory and then participate in a Q&A and critiquing session based on criteria learned in the class. Upon completion, this course will create a set of KAUST researchers and/or staff with new communication, collaboration, filming, and media production skills. Attendees who take this class will benefit from their new skill set of technical communication proficiencies that they can apply to their work.

The Visualization Core Laboratory is pleased to announce a two-day workshop on HPC Visualization with ParaView, offered by Madhu Srinivasan and Shuaib Arshad. ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application. ParaView users can quickly build visualizations to analyze their data using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The data exploration can be done interactively in 3D or programmatically using ParaView's python interface.

KAUST Visualization Laboratory (KVL) will host its 2013 Full-Day Open House event. Come learn about the facilities and research services offered and meet the team that makes it all possible. We invite everybody from the KAUST Academic Community to meet our teams, ask questions about how we can support your research and experience the latest technology available in our labs. Come experience CORNEA, KAUST's own 6-sided Virtual Reality CAVE and other 3D systems, and visit our audio and video production and presentation spaces. Learn how to reserve lab spaces, get a lab user account and book time on our systems for science and technical research use.

Co-organized by the Visualization Core Lab and the Imaging and Characterization Lab.
This course consists of a lecture plus hands-on exercises intended for new or existing users of AVIZO Fire from VSG. This particular module of AVIZO is targeted to the full workflow of MATERIAL SCIENCES including image acquisition and post processing, segmentation, feature detection, 3D reconstruction, analytical computation and presentation.
